Grammy-award winning Afrobeat star Burna Boy is stepping behind the scenes and taking on a new creative challenge: executive producer. Burna Boy is set to make his film industry debut with the upcoming thriller “3 Cold Dishes.”

A Pan-African Production Powerhouse

“3 Cold Dishes” is a collaborative effort between Burna Boy’s own production company, Spaceship Films (co-founded with his mother Bose Ogulu in 2015), and Black Mic Mac, a content company specializing in amplifying the voices of African and Middle Eastern storytellers.

Black Mic Mac isn’t the only powerhouse joining forces for this project. Ifind, Alma Productions, Asurf Films, and Martian Network are also co-producers, solidifying “3 Cold Dishes” as a truly pan-African cinematic experience.

BURNA BOY: Award-Winning Director at the Helm

Taking the director’s chair for “3 Cold Dishes” is Asurf Oluseyi, a rising star in the Nigerian film industry. Oluseyi’s talent is undeniable, having earned the prestigious African Magic Viewer’s Choice Award (AMVCA) for Best Short Film in 2016 with his project “A Day with Death.”

A Story of Strength and Resilience

Described by Oluseyi himself to Variety Magazine as “a testament to the strength and resilience of its characters,” “3 Cold Dishes” is more than just a revenge thriller. It promises to be a groundbreaking cinematic journey that celebrates African storytelling.

A Stellar Cast

The film boasts a cast that blends the best of Nollywood with exciting new talent from West Africa. Nigerian heavyweights Osas Ighodaro, Wale Ojo, Femi Jacobs, Ruby Akubueze, Brutus Richards, and Greg Ojefua share the screen with Ivorian actors Fat Toure and Maud Guerard, and Senegalese stars Amelie Mbaye and Mentor Ba. This diverse cast ensures a film rich in cultural depth and emotional resonance.

Stay Tuned for Further Developments

While a release date for “3 Cold Dishes” has yet to be announced, Burna Boy’s foray into filmmaking has generated significant buzz. This pan-African collaboration, coupled with Oluseyi’s vision and a stellar cast, suggests “3 Cold Dishes” is poised to be a major motion picture event.
